Review: Les Miserables Movie 1998 (Starring Liam Neeson & Geoffrey Rush)

This is so perfect that I have no snarky comment to make about it. I am so excited it makes me feel ill. Geoffrey Rush will play Thenardier in the new Les Mis movie. Bizarrely, both of these pictures are of him. Another illness-level-of-excitement-inducing thing: Geoffrey Rush will play Thenardier and will be terrifyingly perfect for the role. Hordes of fans of the stage version which has played continuously since its debut despite initially terrible reviews are eagerly anticipating the movie. But other critics have found fault with aspects, including its length 2 hours, 38 minutes and earnestness. Instead of allowing lip-syncing, he had all of the players sing their songs on camera as they listened to a live piano accompaniment via an earpiece.
