Caro London presents 30 sewing projects for both nightwear and accessories. With items for both adults and children, all with beautifully illustrated step-by-step instructions, you'll be spoilt for choice. In the summer, the pleated camisole and shorts set will be perfect for balmy nights, as will the frilled strappy nightdress, and the holiday kaftan is beautiful enough to be worn day or night. Meanwhile in colder seasons, wrap up in the kimono with taffeta trim, or go for the classic long-sleeved shirt and matching trousers. Young girls will love the vintage lace nightdress, while for boys, there's a traditional pyjama set. Why not make one of the gorgeous accessories - a cosy hot water bottle cover or a bolster bed cushion? Or try one of the smaller items, such as a travel jewellery roll or a fabric headband that can be worn with your favourite outfit as well as in the bathroom.

And Sew to Bed Combine the perfect mix of prints, textures, trims, and colors to customize your own version of this whimsical Owl pajama case. Note Instead of using pre-covered piping, make up plain cord piping using your own fabric. Cut the fronts and backs in printed cotton, cotton lining, and batting wadding. Place the upper back piece and lining piece RS together, and then lay on top of the matching batting wadding piece. Fold the lining portion back over the batting so that the WS is against the batting layer. Repeat with the lower back pieces. Pin around the remainder of the upper and lower back sections so that all the layers lie flat and meet at the edges.
Please leave a comment - it's always great to hear from you! There are tear-out pattern sheets included for 18 full-size patterns. You have to trace the patterns, and the sheets are a little bit confusing because there are a lot of different lines overlapping. As some of the projects reuse the same methods, and also the techniques from the back section, the instructions will quite often refer you to other pages rather than writing out the same sections repeatedly. My least favourite thing about the book is the diagrams used to accompany the instructions, which I think suffer from the same problem as lots of craft books by seeming to focus more on trying to be pretty than being clear. Yes, the book needs to be nice to look at, but there are photos of the finished projects that can do that job, so I think it would be better to stick to line drawings for the diagrams as sewing patterns would. There are plenty of positives about the book.
