Apologia Chemistry and Physics Review
Our family is thrilled to review Apologia Educational Ministries homeschool science curriculum and we received a copy of Exploring Creation with Chemistry and Physics and two Exploring Creation with Chemistry and Physics Junior Notebooking Journal s for my girls, age 6 and 7. This is quickly becoming our favorite volume of the Young Explorer Series. We are all eating it up, including my chemist husband! Alex age 3 loves to be included when we do the experiments, and even Liz age 13 and Dad like to listen in to the read alouds. Tori and Kate love the junior notebooking journals and it makes my planning so much easier that it provides a schedule I can use and space for them to write up their assignments. I love the Scripture copywork and lapbook items.
So imagine my excitement when we were given the opportunity to review the newest book in the Apologia series, Exploring Creation with Chemistry and Physics , as well as 2 of the complementing Exploring Creation with Chemistry and Physics Notebooking Journals. There is also a Junior Notebooking Journal available for the same price as the regular Notebooking Journal; the Junior Notebooking Journal is perfect for the younger scientist that may have limited writing skills. In her typical conversational style, Jeannie Fulbright will take you and your student s on a fascinating adventure through the world of chemistry and physics. You will explore density, matter, atoms, energy, light, magnetism, and so much more. A typical lesson will take you weeks to complete, depending on how many days a week you allot for science. There is a daily schedule provided at the front of the Notebooking Journal that is based on a 2 day per week science schedule.
What's with the ads? I have been planning to use this for the coming school year, but I read through the couple other threads here about it, and the feedback was primarily negative, even from others who generally like this series., This book is part of the "Apologia Young Explorer Series", which is designed for grades 1 through 6.
I am thrilled, because after hearing so much good about this program, I really wanted to see for myself what the fuss was all about. Apologia did not disappoint! Exploring Creation with Chemistry and Physics:. The main book for this program is bound like a textbook. When you open it on first glance, it looks like a textbook. But- if you read closer, this is more like a living book than a public school text.
We have used every single Apologia Science product up through High School Biology and have not been disappointed with a single one of them Chemistry and Physics was fantastic! We loved the experiments and conversational style of the curriculum. My son actually reads this on his own and then we discuss what he read. He was so excited because he got to cover Chemistry before his older high school brothers covered it!
