I'm not looking for the starter set or basic rules, since those are incomplete and free , I'm just looking for the core books in PDF format.

There are hyperlinks throughout that key off of spell names and the like, but in the version we were shown, most of them were buggy. Readers frequently have to look up a particular detail rather than simply read from cover to cover, and that type of activity could work well with an app - if the app is developed properly. At this point, though, it's not clear whether Wizards of the Coast is more interested in getting paid or in creating a useful tool.

Tapping the screen brings up a master list of all the pages in that section, as well as a button that allows you to favorite whatever you're reading. Say, for example, you create a human cleric as your character. It might be helpful to favorite both the Basic Races and Class sections of the Player's Handbook for quick and easy reference whenever you're playing.
