Book Review – Everything you need to ace math in one big fat notebook
Introducing the Big Fat Note-Book® Series!
I am starting this series of book review blogs, where I plan to review books — story books, text books and books for competitive exams et al. The views in this blog are completely personal, I have used each one of the books which I will be reviewing and have tried to give an honest opinion on why or why not its worth investing in this book for your child. I am in no way compensated, monetarily or otherwise, to publish the contents of this blog. The book I am going to review today is the math book in the series of middle school books published by Workman publishing. Before we proceed further, I would like to mention that though this is a series of books targeting the global home schooling community of students, I am of the view that it is a complete ready-reckoner for math, covering topics from grade 3 till grade 8 math. The main attraction of this book is the way this has been presented — it is written from the point of view of how the smartest student in class would make their notes — and hence filled with legends in bright colours see sample below which makes it really easy to understand the words or definitions to concentrate upon. My son loves to recreate these doodles in almost any drawing he makes and just loves to browse through the topics in the book — thereby getting to know topics which otherwise he would be least interested in.
