James B. This was the final and shortest entry in the MGM Tarzan series. Shooting started on the film only a month after Tarzan's Secret Treasure was completed. This was the first film shown free to servicemen overseas. A 16 mm copy was sent to Iceland and shown 10 May Elmo Lincoln the first movie Tarzan, makes an uncredited cameo appearance as a circus roustabout. In this movie, Tarzan jumps feet from the Brooklyn Bridge.
Circus owner Buck Rand kidnaps Boy to perform in his show. He forces a pilot to fly him, Boy and his animal trainer out of the jungle. Tarzan and Jane follow them to New York. At a trial over custody of Boy, Tarzan becomes violent and is jailed. With the help of the pilot's girlfriend Tarzan who has since escaped, diving off the Brooklyn Bridge finds the circus.

In Ken Burns's documentary on the Brooklyn Bridge there is a clip from a Tarzan movie in which Tarzan leaps off the bridge headfirst into the water. Since the shot wasn't continuous, I'm curious if the actor, Johnny Weissmuller, made the leap, or was it a stuntman? Although it would be easy to think that Tarzan actually made the leap, since Weissmuller was an Olympic gold medalist in swimming, the truth is a leap from the Brooklyn Bridge is too dangerous for a champion athlete or even a stuntman. It was a dummy that fell into the water.
