The Mob and the City: The Hidden History of How the Mafia Captured New York by C. Alexander HortisIf theres a better book on the early history of Cosa Nostra in America, I havent seen it. - Jerry Capeci, veteran mob reporter and author of Mob Boss.
Informative, authoritative, and eye-opening, this is the first full-length book devoted exclusively to uncovering the hidden history of how the Mafia came to dominate organized crime in New York City during the 1930s through 1950s. Based on exhaustive research of archives and secret files obtained through the Freedom of Information Act, author and attorney C. Alexander Hortis draws on the deepest collection of primary sources, many newly discovered, of any history of the modern mob.
Shattering myths, Hortis reveals how Cosa Nostra actually obtained power at the inception. The author goes beyond conventional who-shot-who mob stories, providing answers to fresh questions such as:
* Why did the Sicilian gangs come out on top of the criminal underworld?
* Can economics explain how the Mafia families operated?
* What was the Mafias real role in the drug trade?
* Why was Cosa Nostra involved in gay bars in New York since the 1930s?
Drawing on an unprecedented array of primary sources, The Mob and the City is the most thorough and authentic history of the Mafias rise to power in the early-to-mid twentieth century.

Hell, Progress Quest streamlined all the unnecessary clicking for you moar efficiency! One naturally thought ahead a few steps. And of course, there was the disreputable pay-to-win aroma wafting off a cash shop selling virtual items for insane amounts of money with no more effort that inputting a few numbers on a spreadsheet. At least for cosmetic options in MMOs, some artist had to slave away at a 3D model and spend time making it look good. Cycle ahead five years, and strangely enough, I find myself dabbling away at one of its variants. Nevermind that that mobster has friends of their own and may just come after you in a nuclear escalation scenario where there is no winner.
Mob Wars is a multiplayer role-playing game hosted on the social networking site Facebook. Developed by David Maestri while he worked for Freewebs. Mob Wars is a simple role-playing game. There is no world for the player to move around in. The only type of character interaction the player experiences with other players, is either by sending them messages, weapons, and energy boosts, or attacking them. Like many Facebook applications, most of the gameplay revolves around having friends of the player join the player's mob through means made possible in the game. The player starts off as a petty thief and works his way up to doing bigger and better paying jobs and heists.

I was little obsessed with Mob Wars on Facebook. If you know what it is, you understand. Any tips to add? Nice guide haha, i have a question here i would like to ask. If you are killed or defeated by other players is there any way of tracking who they are?
I have recently been playing Mob Wars on FB. I started because Ann and Liz both invited me to be part of their mobs. I nearly stopped playing after Thanksgiving but Scott begged me not to uninstall the application because he wanted me to stay in the mob. As a result of these friends playing, I have continued. To understand why Parking Wars is a better game, I think we have to understand a little bit about how to play each game. Mob Wars is a game in which the player plays a mob boss.
