BOOK REPORT: The Story of Us by Deb Caletti
Post a Comment. An old friend decides this is the week to declare his love for Cricket. Grandpa chooses to reveal a big secret at a family gathering. Because even though her boyfriend looms large in her mind, Ash is right in front of her My main issue with this book was the letters that Cricket would write to her ex boyfriend Janssen. They really had nothing to do with the plot but served to explain the relationship between Cricket and Janssen to the readers. The letters acted as a stream of consciousness for Cricket and in my opinion, we got a lot of unnecessary information from them.
I must make a comparison to Sarah Dessen.

Summary : Cricket is on a break from her longtime boyfriend, just as everything in her life is changing. Her mom is set to remarry, and they are heading to spend some time with their new family before the nuptials. Cricket takes the time away to examine her relationship and figure out what she really wants for her future. All of us bookies probably went broke on April 24th…and right after the tax deadline, too. Just kidding.
Thank you! Cricket accepts that life is transient and change is inevitable; she just needs a survival guide for getting through it. Ready or not, change happens. But as friends and family—including former spouses—gather on an island off the Washington coast, tensions arise. Fractured relationships have jagged edges. Smart, likable Cricket is supported by a surfeit of colorful characters and plenty of action.
